Frosty Day 7

IMG_4842

I just saw a post that said my city was as cold as Mars today.  We are in a deep freeze here with temperatures plummeting to numbers that have not been seen in centuries. We are ending the year well-chilled.

As I look back over this spectacular year, I think the word that comes to my mind is blessed. Two major trips, reconnection with some good friends out east, inspiring speakers to challenge and encourage me, and amazing opportunities.  I learned so much and met phenomenal people. I am so very grateful for what transpired.

As the year ends, I look ahead to 2014 and I feel hopeful. I do not know what the year holds. At the moment I have no extravagant plans, only ordinary ones.  Perhaps that will be the lesson relearned this year–live the ordinary well.  Embrace the life given at every moment. Hold the present as a gift.

I am not making many resolutions yet but I will as the New Year progresses. What do you hold dear from this past year? What are you looking forward to as 2014 begins?

Peace,

Suzanne

About sstyves

A Canadian prairie girl rooted in Ignatian spirituality, I seek God in all things. Whether I catch a glimpse of the Divine and delight in its presence in nature or in the beauty of an encounter with someone, I am ever so grateful that I can recognize the Creator. I greet each new day with hope and happiness, expecting blessings and miracles because I am created to praise, love and serve God. This blog is one way of realizing that through my writings, prayers, and photography. To God be the Glory!
