Season’s Final Days

Image

These 12 days of Christmas are drawing to an end. In the Church calendar we will soon once again be in ordinary time.  Life in general returns to the ordinary again. We go back to work and school. Meetings and other commitments resume. Can we see God when there is no tinsel and lights? Can we recognize Christ in the poor and lowly? When we sit across from a friend over lunch and pour out our hearts in love, do we sense the presence of the Holy Spirit?

Keep your eyes open for the Holy as this year progresses. Like a game of Hide and Seek, God gently whispers our names, hoping that we will be attentive to the continued gifts of Beauty, Joy, Wonder, Love, and Hope that are lavished upon us year round. Do you have eyes that see the sparkle of the angel on the tree even in February? Does your heart beat with anticipation mid-year at the gift received? Do you laugh with joy at the Mystery of the Babe during autumn days? Be still. Know God now during this Holy Season and you will see Signs everywhere at every moment. God, as Emmanuel, God-with-us, is here now and always.

Peace,

Suzanne

About sstyves

A Canadian prairie girl rooted in Ignatian spirituality, I seek God in all things. Whether I catch a glimpse of the Divine and delight in its presence in nature or in the beauty of an encounter with someone, I am ever so grateful that I can recognize the Creator. I greet each new day with hope and happiness, expecting blessings and miracles because I am created to praise, love and serve God. This blog is one way of realizing that through my writings, prayers, and photography. To God be the Glory!
