New Life

Image

New life is coming this week.  Can you hold on?  The snow is melting. The cold is supposed to disappear. Temperatures will soar. Buds will appear.  Every step towards Jerusalem that we have made draws us to the Cross and beyond. Hope of new life is tangible as we enter the Triduum celebrations tomorrow. Easter is within sight.

These 40 days have been about staying attentive so that I might catch a glimpse of what angels long to see (1 Peter). I have noticed a number of things that point heavenward these past weeks. God has been at work. A resurrection is coming. How will the Lenten journey impact these next few days? Will you see with the eyes of angels what has been given to you this Lent? Look at the struggles, the discards, the garbage, the sins uncovered, the sins forgiven, the growth, the change, and see the beauty of the gift given. Is there new freedom? Clearer understanding? A lightness where heaviness existed? Does compassion replace anger?

Can you look at the old and see instead the new? Enter these celebrations with new eyes and an open heart.

Peace,

Suzanne

About sstyves

A Canadian prairie girl rooted in Ignatian spirituality, I seek God in all things. Whether I catch a glimpse of the Divine and delight in its presence in nature or in the beauty of an encounter with someone, I am ever so grateful that I can recognize the Creator. I greet each new day with hope and happiness, expecting blessings and miracles because I am created to praise, love and serve God. This blog is one way of realizing that through my writings, prayers, and photography. To God be the Glory!
