I finally took advantage of a gift certificate for a spa. I had booked myself in for a chakra massage down at the Forks.  I had wanted the Aboriginal one where smudging is used but could not find a date that fit with my schedule this week.

I had some concerns about what this massage might involve but I was delighted and surprised at the turn of events. I did not feel any major release of energy as the massage occurred but as we began she asked me to select a stone that spoke to me.  I took a few deep breaths, opened my eyes and spotted a clear stone. I pointed at it. It turns out that this one represented the crown chakra which symbolizes the desire to encounter the Higher Power. How appropriate was that?

God can work through many mediums. While nothing really happened during the massage per se, I did relax and pray for the healing of my body.  The warm and cool stones were a blessing to my body. I welcomed the caresses of each tired muscle and savoured the experience. I could feel peace settle deep within my bones. Such a gift!
