What Brings Joy?

Park (1 of 1)-2
Ah, nature! I find such joy in you. This morning, walking up to the restaurant in the park, I really wanted to take my camera and go explore but alas, my co-workers were already waiting. The sky was overcast but the twinkle lights dazzled me while the forest whispered me to abandon the day and come play. One quick picture had to do.

What brings you joy? That awesome wondrous feeling almost makes you burst open, flinging your heart upwards in total abandonment. At this time of year, I can close my eyes and imagine a scene in a stable, with the Infinite Infant resting in His mother’s arms, and I can breathe deeply, satisfied that all is very well. If God can come to us so small, so vulnerable and risk it all, what can I do in gratitude in return?

How can I live differently because this Babe bothered to leap from Heaven to earth…for me…for you? What lesson must I learn this Advent as we journey to the Love candle? I am ever grateful that my life is infused with Joy. The source of that Joy is Jesus. I am unashamedly Yours today and always.

Peace,

Suzanne

About sstyves

A Canadian prairie girl rooted in Ignatian spirituality, I seek God in all things. Whether I catch a glimpse of the Divine and delight in its presence in nature or in the beauty of an encounter with someone, I am ever so grateful that I can recognize the Creator. I greet each new day with hope and happiness, expecting blessings and miracles because I am created to praise, love and serve God. This blog is one way of realizing that through my writings, prayers, and photography. To God be the Glory!
